Once operating as the ‘River Park Maroochy Motel’, Loea Boutique Hotel was seen as an opportunity to create refined boutique accommodation that reflects the relaxed elegance of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle. Through a considered renovation, it was reimagined as a calm, coastal retreat for guests seeking understated luxury in one of Queensland’s most iconic beachside destinations.
Located at the centre of the Sunshine Coast’s famous stretch of beaches, the hotel offers an intimate escape while remaining connected to its surroundings, delivering an experience that feels personal and relaxed.
Reflecting on the project, Paul Cross, Director and Builder at Cross Constructions, says, “It was a full renovation of both the exterior and interior. We added two rooms that were originally part of the reception area, renovated the existing pool, and reworked the car park and main garden areas.”
The design featured an all-white palette, layered with natural materials to create a soft and inviting atmosphere. Timbers, organic textures, and natural fibres were introduced to evoke warmth and tranquillity, reflecting the laid-back coastal environment. Light-filled spaces and restrained detailing contribute to an atmosphere that feels timeless, inviting, and effortlessly luxurious. At the heart of the guest experience is a focus on comfort and relaxation, featuring amenities such as a magnesium swimming pool, luxury bedding, an on-site bar, and thoughtfully curated guest services.
Selected for their ability to introduce warmth and subtle contrast within the predominantly white interiors, ABI Interiors’ brushed brass tapware, shower fixtures, and towel rails complement the bright, coastal spaces. The brushed brass finish enhances the natural palette while adding a refined, tactile element.
“Brushed brass fixtures were selected throughout the renovation, which complemented the coastal design intent perfectly,” adds Tanya King, General Manager at Cross Constructions. “We’ve been using ABI Interiors products for over five years now and cannot fault their service, delivery times, responsiveness, or marketing support.”
