We are transitioning our brass products to be constructed with lead free brass before the 1 May 2026 deadline, in line with the National Construction Code (NCC), which specifies that lead free tapware will become mandatory at the point of installation in Australia.

Lead free kitchen taps provide a source of safe drinking water. Their rust-resistant and anti-corrosion properties ensure their suitability for indoor and outdoor settings.

Our Lead Free Tapware Range

Our durable lead free tapware is constructed from premium 316 grade stainless steel and comprises minimal mixers, wall-mounted spouts, and handle kits.

For complete peace of mind, this range is tested to confirm that there is 0% lead present.

The National Construction Code (NCC) specifies that from 1 May 2026, lead free tapware will become mandatory at the point of installation in Australia. Clause A5G4 of NCC 2022 Volume Three (Plumbing Code of Australia) specifies that copper alloy plumbing products in contact with drinking water must limit the allowable lead content to a weighted average of no more than 0.25%.

The industry has been allowed three years to make this transition due to the extensive work involved for manufacturers and suppliers. We have already begun this transition, with our Sola Stainless Steel range available as a lead free alternative to our brass products. We are actively focused on expanding this range and are in the process of transitioning our brass products to be constructed with lead free brass before the required date.

Why is lead free tapware becoming mandatory?

The Australian Building Codes Board has reviewed and recognised studies on the long-term health benefits of lead free tapware.

What particular tapware will be influenced  by this change?

The NCC specifies that plumbing products containing copper alloy that come into contact with drinking water must have a lead content of no more than 0.25%.

Which tapware do you currently offer that is completely lead free?

Our 316 grade stainless steel tapware provides a lead-free alternative to our brass tapware products.

Have your lead free taps undergone testing to confirm the absence of lead?

Tests have been conducted on our 316 grade stainless steel tapware, and the reports confirm this range contains 0% lead.

Do all your other taps contain lead?

Yes, lead is a key ingredient for brass tapware. However, our brass has very low lead content and contains less than half the Australian standard.
