For those who don’t know, a staycation is exactly what it suggests; a vacation from the comfort of your own home. To assist you in your newest creative project, I needed to uncover the magic spells they put on our pillows to make them 100 x snugglier. We start our staycation journey where all great things do – the bedroom. Whether its freshly laundered sheets or statement décor and neutral colour palettes– the science is in satisfaction. Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but beds are forever. Invest in your comfort and spend on a fantastic night’s sleep. Now that we’re more acquainted with one another, I think it’s time we get steamy…and take this to the bathroom. Long gone are the days where bathrooms were places we went into, but dare not talk about – this space should not be void of character and charm. Hotel baths emulate the essence of a relaxing vacation; whether it’s encompassing yourself in bubbles or drawing its elegant tapware, bathtubs have a way of inducing you into a serene hypnotic-trance and are often the most adored component of a hotel stay. You’re not just ‘getting a bath’, you are installing an experience. Heated towel rails are a non-negotiable addition to your staycation; this very bathroom accessory affords you the experience of wrapping yourself in the closest thing us earthbound humans have to a cloud. THE LAUNDRY
I regret to inform you that keeping chores out the staycation is, unfortunately, impossible. So let’s exercise your laundry’s modesty and urgency for function by incorporating the much-loved details in a hotel’s minimalist design. To inspire the spirit of a vacation in your laundry, focus on complementing the white space with a new perspective on storage. Mounted on the wall to emphasise necessary elegance, soap holders are the perfect way to beautify your essentials. What may seem like a small feature will invite liveliness into the room while effortlessly maximising on space.
THE KITCHEN
The kitchen is at the heart of your home, and when it comes to creating your staycation design scheme, you can never go wrong with classic-modernism; incorporating today’s masterpieces and tomorrows fantasies.
