Step Inside Celebrity Personal Trainer Luke Zocchi’s Home, Inspired by Tropical Brutalism

Being the personal trainer responsible for sculpting some of Hollywood's most impeccable physiques is no small feat. It requires a unique formulation of expertise, skill, and enthusiasm to ignite a drive for hard work in others and then showcase those results to the scrutiny of millions.

Luke Zocchi, personal trainer to the stars, boasts an impressive portfolio, notably recognised as Chris Hemsworth's trainer, alongside brother Liam Hemsworth and esteemed actress Cate Blanchett.

However, beyond his expertise in rigorous training regimens, Luke has recently expanded his repertoire to include a new talent: home design. Enter Seacliffs, his latest venture.

Designed by Harley Graham Architects and inspired by tropical brutalism, Seacliffs exudes an aesthetic characterised by raw, unrefined materials, daring geometric forms, and a profound sense of grandeur. It’s also significantly imbued with a deep admiration for the natural surroundings, with expansive windows inviting ample light to play against the dark interiors, seamlessly blending with the laid-back coastal lifestyle quintessential to Suffolk Park.

While the dark exterior aligns with Luke’s individual aesthetic, Seacliffs' distinctive touches, such as the rich wooden elements and personal mementos, infuse the home with the same welcoming personality radiating in Luke.

A spacious lounge room welcomes you into the home, enveloped by floor-to-ceiling windows illuminating the lighter interiors, creating a striking yet purposeful contrast to the remainder of the home. A warming timber focal wall conceals a secret room behind a bookshelf, extending seamlessly into the entire ceiling of the ground floor — a common design motif found throughout Seacliff. 

Remaining faithful to Luke's vision of a fully integrated living space, the lounge room seamlessly transitions into the kitchen area, with a central courtyard garden as a natural focal point juxtaposing the cool grey cement flooring.

The striking, completely black kitchen is highlighted by sleek black leathered quartz countertops and ABI Interiors' angular brushed gunmetal tapware overlooking the veranda and pool area beyond.

The primary bathroom offers a serene retreat at any hour of the day thanks to its encompassing dark scheme, the skylight above allowing natural light to filter through for an utterly zen ambience.

Japanese handmade charcoal subway tiles cover the floors, complementing the light charcoal stone of the bathtub and sink and the matte black walls.

Brushed gunmetal accents tie everything together, including the Floor-Mounted Bath Filler, Milani Progressive Spout Set, Elysian Single Towel Rail, and a conveniently placed Elysian Hand Towel under the wall-mounted mirror cabinets.

“My architects had put through what they wanted to do with fixings, and it was crazy expensive,” says Luke. 

“Then I stumbled across ABI, and it looked exactly the same as the other brands’ [products] and was priced way better.”

“I love [the gunmetal tapware]! I really think it ties in with the colours of the house — the concrete — it’s got that modern feel. It's so good, I really like it.”

Luke’s primary passion is evident outside, where a ground-floor indoor-outdoor gym awaits, featuring a sneaky decor touch with one of Chris Hemsworth’s Teen Choice Awards surfboards. Upstairs, a sauna, outdoor shower, and pool area beckon invitingly, ready to aid in post-workout recovery.

“I’m never leaving this place,” says Luke. “I got so lucky [with this block]. You can hear all the wildlife.”

He pauses to look around. 

“This is it. This is home.”
